There, Shigeharu Take (Masato Ibu), who is now the police commissioner, arrives. He states that he will create an investigation team "UIU" to solve cases related to urban legends. Ichio Tannai (Naoto Takenaka) is appointed the team leader of UIU. Detective Tsukiko Otonashi will work as a permanent member of UIU. On the morning of the symposium, researcher Shuji Nakano's (Ryo Segawa) body is found next to Lake Motosu. Shuji Nakano was scheduled to make a presentation regarding Mount Fuji.
